RomeoXJuliet (the anime)

RomeoXJuliet (the manga)

RomeoXJuliet: Fantasy, Romance, and Drama
Did I love it or hate it?
Eh...I have mix feelings for both the anime and the manga.

(* means "so you know")
*I prefer watching the Subbed better.
*I don't like youtube, but youtube has the series, so why not? But I bet you can watch it in AnimeSeason or some other website
.Reasons I Like RxJ:
----I like that the series didn't feel like it was rushing at any point or time in the episode. Even though it only had 24 episodes (which it could be short for most anime), I kept watching it with breeze from the beginning to the end.

----The plot was creative that they added some fantasy (flying horses and a flying Neo Verona) and having Juliet dressing up like a boy because Montague is looking for the last Capulet. Also, Juliet (Odin is her guy name) will be the Red Whirlwind and become the symbol of  rebellion  against the misused power! (Very nice ;D)   And I felt like if they replace the names of Romeo, Juliet, Mercutio, Tybalt, and other Shakespeare's characters, it would have the same concept of Romeo and Juliet (forbidden love and tragedy.) But I really nice the spin that they took. Either someone will like or hate it.

---I like the atmosphere and the color of the anime. It would be light at times like when Romeo and Juliet flirt. (They act like two little shy kids :3 ) Also, they were times when the anime was dark especially at the end of the series. And I love the background of the anime. It was well-drawn and it was really beautiful :) Especially how they design the irises, the skies, the buildings and castles, and the countryside.
RomeoXJuliet: Episode One (Subbed)

RomeoXJuliet: Episode One (Dubbed)
---My favorite part of watching RxJ was listening to the ending (Cyclone -サイクロン- by 12012.) I absolutely love it. It's intense, quick pace, and it has an amazing beat :D I remember when I started watching the anime, I would never skip the ending.

Reason I Didn't Like RxJ:
The only problem I had with RxJ was the how the characters were drawn. Sometimes, I would look at their feature and wonder why it was be sharp, why is Odin's hair look choppy in the front, and how come the animation looks sloppy at the last few episodes.

HOWEVER... I really like watching RxJ. I would give it 4 Stars of 5. It is enjoyable to watch and; honestly, I'll watch it again if I feel like it.
The only thing I recommend is that you watch it with an openmind. I know it's definitely different the play. However, it's no different when the remake the play to the move: Romeo+Juliet. (Actually, I didn't like the movie) XD But you get my point.

*It's hard to find a manga website to read RxJ (cause it's license now; which it's stupid -.-) So you can buy it or play a scavengar hunt with it.
Reasons I like RxJ:
---Compare to the anime, I really, really, really LOVE the art. I absolutely love how COM design the characters and the background and I love the manga art for Romeo and Juliet better than the anime. I was really jealous how they were drawn because how flawless it looks. It convince the readers (me) to believe that this is what Romeo and Juliet would have  been imagine by William Shakespeare himself. (If you didn't know, I judge but the looks XD opps) Futhermore, it made the characters more natural in the story and has this sense of unique even though it's Shakespeare's story.

---The plot was still the same as the anime. (Note: the anime was made first before
the manga. That's why I talked about the anime first :) ) I like that they haven't tried to mess around or switch anything that made the manga different from the anime. Yeah, there was minor twist that wasn't exactly in the anime, but it didn't dramatically change the outcome of the whole story.

Reasons I Didn't like RxJ:
---The MAJOR downfall I had with this manga compare to the anime was how fast it was when I turn the pages. It wasn't really satisfying how quick the plot ended and that it only 2 volumes. (SERIOUSLY, 2 volumes.) I wish they could have expand it because if I hadn't watch the anime first then the manga, I wouldn't understand the plot at all. You wouldn't know that it they in a falling land or Juliet would actually had to die to save the land or actually know that the tree was dying in the first place.

---Also, I did enjoy the fighting scenes, but there was mutiple confusions that I couldn't understand. In my opinion, I feel like when they drew the fighting scenes you can't tell the difference between which sword was which when they clash or when they tried a close up, it was lines and awkward angles. It took me a while to figure out what was going on by squinting and reread those pages.

To be fair, I gave it 3 STARS out of 5. I really did enjoy the art and the story, but it was too fast for my taste and I was wishing for more details so it would make readers enjoy and understand this new and unique story of Romeo and Juliet.
